I need a link to the manual for an EPIA 5000 mini-ITX board. Specifically, I need to know how to enable video. I have a couple boards that power up ( I hooked up a system fan to verify board is hot) but nothing comes out of VGA, S-Video, or composite output. I am using a bootable Linux distro in a CD ROM.
I know that these boards have WAY too many jumpers. :wallbash:

John, did you find the solution? I picked a couple of these up on ebay for cheap and after finding several manuals, still haven't got mine to work. Both units seem to work. The 128mb Disc-on-Chip that came on them seems to be accessed like a normal boot, but there's nothing going to the screen. I reset the CMOS and it didn't auto-boot anymore, so that makes me think that the CMOS is reset an ok? There seems to be some parts that weren't ever installed on the mainboard. Remove the memory and boot, no beep. Looks like the little speaker wasn't installed?!

I have same board with the same problem

I also got a couple of this boards from ebay and I am having the same problem you guys have, the board seems to be working, I tried using different memory sticks and resetting the BIOS but no luck, the 128mb disconchip drive works fine I tested it on a different system it has some Linux distro on it. I also tried removing the battery and nothing I even attached a buzzer but no beeps, the board powers on and off with a power switch attached to it but thats as far as I can get.
has any of you gotten any further ?

from dealing with a few of these boards and having similar/same problem, things to try.

try 4 or 5 different power supplies. yes i know it sounds crazy especially when you have your new 650w+ power supply hooked up to this sucker it should work. but on at least 2 boards i found that for some reason they did not like good/expensive/whatever power supplies. i grabbed a cheap POS $3 bargin bin PSU from my local electronics junk yard and guess what they worked.

another problem i had and no idea why this solution worked was with the no video, go t your local electronics junk yard again and grab a cheap-o s3 pci video card. yeah those things can not be hurt i swear. anyway pop it in there, get it to post, go into the bios, reset everything and bamo a good board again. that resolved about 5 boards.

and the final solution with these boards was memory. i always found them a bit picky with memory. the bad part about this was that there was no pattern. I could never find 1 brand that they all liked, so i had to grab a variety of different memories and swap them out until i got something.

now i know what you are thinking, beep codes could have helped me out a lot and solved a lot of my problems. I agree they would have helped me out, if they were actually given to me by the boards. none of them ever gave any type of beep code to say "hey i have a problem" so good luck with your problem and i hope you get it resolved soon.

I have an Epia 5000 in a little Cubid case, and it works great as a monitoring/logging PC.

The thing to remember with this board is that you have to make sure it has the latest BIOS, otherwise there are some quirks that will really annoy you... but I can't remember exactly what those quirks are :)
