    Good news!

VIA Mobo's are great for what they are, perfect for a massive number of situations. They're not all the expensive either... More people should move to the ways of the EPIA!

Indeed, I love my EPIA. I don't use it much as it's hardly a gamer (and the 256mb of ram I stuck in is a bit low for XP nowadays), but a zero moving parts machine to do office work and whatnot is excellent. People always complain about how slow they are, but, well, I could hardly expect any sane person to have a 1ghz "off-brand" processor compare to dual 2.0ghz a la X2 3800+. I got one knowing it would be slow and it actually was faster than I expected. Perfect for school comps and whatnot where office, email and web is all that's going on.

Epia's are sweet. I've had one for a while and they are great little systems. I have linux and run OpenOffice etc and there is no problems with performance including playing MP3's and DVD's.

It would be great to see an epia/linux latop become available which should be amazingly cheap.

Agreed. Frankly, where I'd REALLY love to see them is in the further evolution of Tablet PCs.

Most of those run a Crusoe processor at ~800mhz. Not enough beef at ALL. Epia mobos would make the whole thing much more affordable and powerful.
