Poor ole' eddie's been inundated by VIA press releases, so he's dumped the lot on me! ;)

There's some interesting stuff though - they've updated their Eight-TRAC eight channel audio codec (part of their Vinyl Audio strategy):

The VIA Vinyl Eight-TRAC also supports DualMax™ hardware down-mixing, stereo enhancement, and integrates a high-quality headphone amplifier. To make set-up as easy as possible, the VIA Eight-TRAC provides innovative Sixth-Sense™ jack detection, and Mi****ter™ technology enabling maximum flexibility in configuring customized audio set-ups.

They've also announced that in partnership with Maxtor they're the first to implement SATA for AMD64:

"The validation of Maxtor's SATA hard drives with the VIA K8T800 chipset will accelerate the adoption of Serial ATA/RAID technology on the AMD64 platform," commented Richard Brown, Associate Vice President of Marketing, VIA Technologies, Inc. "Motherboards based on the VIA K8T800 are now available in volume from all the world's leading mainboard manufacturers."

And to top that all of, they've been working with ITRI on some "Telematics" concepts to help try and advance the design of low-power vehical computing:

The VIA Eden Telematics Platform developed by VIA and ITRI extends the capabilities of modern vehicle computers into the domain of x86 architecture, while allowing compact, low power designs that can cope with the extreme thermal conditions challenging vehicle computer market design. This enables a new breed of digitally intelligent telematics systems compatible across various markets, including the consumer electronics and digital media segments, with improved capabilities and features including a real time operating system such as Microsoft® Windows® CE, an entertainment center for radio, TV, digital audio and video playback and even gaming, a communication and information center for GPS navigation, telecommunication, and news, traffic and weather updates, and Internet browsing.
