The phenomenal success of the controversial Grand Theft Auto: Vice City has led to a massive leap in profits for games publisher Take 2. The gangster title has sold more than 8.5 million copies worldwide since it was released in October. The sales are responsible for two-thirds of Take 2's revenue of $408.8m for the last three months. Gamers might have to wait a while for the next instalment in the Grand Theft Auto series, as the company said it was not planning to release a follow-up until 2004. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/2807759.stm 8.5m copies!
