Can anyone remember an old VHS game called Video Blaster, or Master Blaster or something similar, I am not too sure what it was called tbh. Basically, you had a IR gun which you'd point at various targets on the TV which were played back via VHS. I used to have 2 games, one was a 'top gun' type game, the other was flying through our solar system shooting at alien ships. I've been trying to find this for *ages* albeit on and off. No idea if this game was released in the UK, I was in South Africa at the time.
lol you've just reminded me of an old shareware game on the amiga called master blaster. Really excellent bomberman clone.
Almost but no. The one I'm on about didn't require any console, just a VHS player & a TV. You'd play the VHS 'game tape' and shoot at the screen, the light gun had a tiny status screen which kept track of your score, and it had a built-in speaker which made cool sounds too!
i know what your on about, because a firend of mine had one, he had a captain power and the soldiers of the future, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Captainpowerxt-7.JPG, Action figures & interactive game
Oh the memories, I had the Top Gun one which was so funny lol back then. I bet young ones now would wonder how a VHS game worked lol or even know what a VHS is.
WTF? VHS? like the pre-DVD video format? I'm 23 and a hardcore gamer and never heard of that! Time to hit the yard sales.
