i have a movie i've just made in vista on windows movie maker and its around 136mb! its wmv and is around 7minutes long... what tool can i use to bring it down to like 20mb's or less with good quality? any links/names of programs would be a godsend. cheers
If you still have the original content and project file, just change the output settings and re-save it as lower quality. Assuming Vista movie maker's similar to XP.
yeah i was thinking of doin that but wasn't sure if i'd get better quality through conversion instead of encoding at a lower setting...
You could use eRightSoft Super Encoder, home page.. http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html Download can be found here… http://updat1.free.fr/A9A272829C61A6A9D86B50FF/SUPERsetup.exe This program is also free. I would recommend that you take the highest quality video you have and convert it to your desired format, as if i recall correctly windows movie maker will save only to .WMV, a good compression video codec that I would recommend is XviD.
Yea, Movie Maker is really crappy for compressing options. The best I can tell you to do is to use another program to compress it further like dr. divx or mencoder. Personally I use the VHS preset as it gives not too bad picture quality for OK compression.
Hmm - interesting must download and try that over the weekend. So what file size did you end up with ?
