Tried most if not all vid editing software and I've personally settled on the Adobe range. Premiere for video editing conversion to MPEG2, Photoshop for doing the odd still frame or DVD menu screen and Encore for the final DVD production.

The main problem I had at the time was finding software that coped with true widescreen footage as most other bits of software assumed 4:3 whereas Premiere took it in it's stride.

The only real problem at the mo is that Adobe have not announced or seem to have plans for releasing fixes for the software to run with Vista so an stuck with using XP for the time being.

I use Premiere Pro 2, with a Matrox RTX100 at work, it's the cats' whiskers. It's based on an Asus P5W-DH Deluxe, with C2D 6300 and 2GB PC5300. You have to be careful if you go down the Real Time Editing card route - basically, it boils down to the motherboard and if it's compatible.
