We are having our school carnival this week and we are planning to do a stall. We would be having 2 or 3 PCs. I would like to know some games that we can let people play. Most of the people who would come would be teenagers. We were looking for games that we can let people play and finish within 10 minutes. Letting them play multiplayer using LAN is also OK. One type of game we came up is racing. (SHIFT, pro street) So can you please suggest some other good games And i have another question about multiplayer. Is it possible to play a multiplayer game on the same PC, using dual monitors, dual keyboards and dual mice.
unreal tournament 2004 is a good choice, can set a little deathmatch on deck with a 10 mins time limit,
Wasnt there a free FPS game you could use I cant remember the name of it that way you wouldnt need to buy or hack multiple copies might help: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_freeware_first-person_shooters
Depends how far you want to go. Not sure how young the teenagers will be, but co-op games are always a good bet. Left 4 Dead Dawn of War II Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 Trackmania Nations CoD: World at War - Survival Mode
Additionally to save you having to purchase multiple copies of the same game, you could play Quake Live, assuming you have a reasonably fast net connection...
Also might be an idea to download some game demo's so if no one is playing you can have them showing off the PC's and make them more attractive
Of the games you have mentioned i selected some. But i still have questions about them 1. Can you play counter strike and COD world at war survival mode by a LAN connection and play in a 2 player mode? 2. Is it possible to time these games and give the players a specific time to finish it? 3. Are the maps in these games very big or are there small maps? (as i said earlier we are doing a stall. So we dont have much time for a player)
Not sure about Counter Strike - you'd need more than 3 people so probs not the best choice. You can definitely play COD World at War on Lan in two player mode. Not possible to time the game, but it basically works by giving you ever increasing numbers of zombies to deal with in waves - so essentially you could measure a teams skill by the level they achieved. I'd suspect that people wouldn't be surviving for much more than 5 minutes without prior practice. Most of the maps are pretty small!
^^^^ Saying that i lasted ~20 mins on nazi zombies on my second go and that was with my friends girlfriend as player two spent more time in last stand mode than actually fighting. Basically saying could get problematic if you have someone with prior experience has a go they could be there for a while.
Counter Strike: Source is a definite inclusion - takes peanuts to run, looks good and is modifiable up to the eyeballs for game length, respawn, map etc. Plus, teenagers love shooting things in the face, so it's win-win. If you need more players, might I suggest bots bulking out the teams? There are many hundreds of CS:S maps, mostly configured for fast engagement and semi-interesting firefights. Everything from the mode, time, teams, bots, maps etc can all be done on a LAN running from one computer to another. At a guess you'd have two crappy, ancient PCs, two human players, bots, and games of 3 minutes. [EDIT]I forgot to add - pretty much everyone that has a Steam account has CS:S, so you shouldn't have any problems borrowing two for the afternoon.[/EDIT]
