If I only want to make a video jukebox, not a full blown htpc, what software would everyone reccommend? Will a PIII 500 or a dual PIII 450 sytem be okay?

if an epia can do it, sure as hell those chips can. As to software..... there's really a lot out there. Pick the one that runs best

dual 450 sould be perfect ...

what do you mean by jukebox? are you using said system to output to a tv?
    and if so, how?
or are you trying to make a video server?

i would suggest looking into linux and myHTPC ...make the most out of that dualie box... and an old ati card. my mom's htpc has a 32mb rage fury .. does killer tv out with no extra hardware ... just s-vid cable.

Yes. I want to throw serious HDD space on it and load it up with Divx video
I have an older All-In-Wonder card (older 4 meg) which has composite and svideo out
    Kinda

I was thinking of Linux, but the last I knew the All-In-Wonder card isn't fully supported.

4 meg - so its a rage pro chipset probably? ... i'd suggest scouring the rage3d forums, and these ...

this thread has lots of good links to check out htpc under linux ...

If you're looking to *just* play back video then you could look into GeexBox, plays back most formats, TV card support, IR remote etc. Also includes an FTP server and takes up ~8Mb :thumb: Movix is the same kinda deal but Ive not tried that myself.
