some but not all video files wmv in particular have a deep pink hue in wmp11 making them not worth watching and those same files have a blue hue in VLC though not as deep as the pink hue so is watchable in vlc just irratatin...any thoughts? also is there a way to make vlc behave like wmp11 ie so window size stays the size i set it and doesnt reset everytime i play a diff video or on startup
WMP11 has a HUE setting, check if it is not set to anything other than default (no change). If that i snot the case, then it could be a codec thing. Look trough your codecs for some configuration panel (if it ha one), and see if their is anything you could do. Else it could be a codec problem a possible conflict. Uninstall completely all your codecs, and get a codec pack like K-lite. These codec packs are a group a codec that for one will allow you to play all or almost all formats, also are tested to not have any conflicts. They are other codecs pack out there, but these is the one I tested the most and was satisfied with the results. If you have Vista 64-bit and use WMP11 64-bit (not set as default, the default one is the 32-bit version), than you will need 64-bit codec pack instead. i'm on trusty xp, dont like codec packs prefer just to stick with my trusty xvid and ac3 its not with all movies think may be related to winxp sp3 as problem got alot worse after installing that so will do fresh install over weekend with sp3 integrated and see what happens will have a play before hand with xvid settings ....but surely xvid doesnt toy around with wmv files?
