    Sorry to disappoint you Bindi, but if you followed the Wikipedia link I put in the same post, you'd notice that the original story ("A Princess of Mars") was written in 1917 by the same guy who invented Tarzan.
    (Which makes Lucas the plagiarist here as we already knew).

    In fact, have a copy of "A Princess of Mars" legally free from "Project Gutenberg".

    Story-schmory - I think what Bindi was getting at is that as a film it looks a little underwhelming when put into the context of much of Pixar's previous work.

    Given the capabilities of CGI nowadays I welcome fantastical, other-worldly films as much as anyone, but they still need to stand out as something new/different to be worthwhile. I'm not saying the film will be rubbish, but the trailer doesn't give me confidence.

    The first scene of the trailer immediately made me think of Attack of the Clones, and we all know the reputation that film has.

    Fair enough! So everyone else took inspiration from him! :eeek:

    Even so, in 1917 this was likely a masterpiece, but by today it's all cliché and the choice to make it will be seen as such.

    It became the first ever true scifi movie, filmed by Georges Méliès in the same year.
