Now that looks outright awesome. It's a shame their website is outright overloaded from the number of people trying to download it.

Edit; Thankfully, there's a completely legal torrent available from our Swedish friends (And for once; I'm not lying about the legal part.), it's even linked in the Video Description!

Except it doesn't. They gloss over the fact that there is always 1 number at the end that doesn't cancel out. For example pause at 29 seconds. In reality what the equation on the right should be reading is 32-1 (after cancelling everything out). The same number of terms that get multiplied by 1 must also get multiplied by 2, so eventually the equation will read 1+2+3+....... = infinity - 1 (which is infinity).

Not quite. You can't carry out operations on infinity like that, it's not a number.

I recall reading one of my 2nd year undergrad texts and there was some (no doubt stolen) advice to think of infinity like you'd think of an upside down turtle, confusing and interesting, but not something you can add the number 5 to.

I agree with that, but I was just pointing out operations that they'd just plain left out of the equation.

The maths fails when you split the summation of 2x2^n and 1x2^n otherwise it's the sum of (2^(n+1) - 2^n) which is divergent just the same as 2^n.

Also, infinity isn't a mathemtical concept, it simply doesn't exist in mathematics.
