Now if I was in the crowd watching this, I would want to be wearing a full face gas mask...

Oh man. Drum corps is quite the rabbit hole for me. Drum Corps International is a competitive marching league. The athleticism and musicianship is incredible. I know the UK used to have some teams, but I'm not sure if they're active anymore. It's mostly a US thing.

Here's a brass warmup that gives me chills. Anyone who plays brass will know how hard it is to get as perfectly in unison as they are. They're not only perfectly in tune, but they're also getting their sin waves to match up. Hearing this in person is insane.

The drumlines of these corps will do warmups that are mostly just exercises in technical and rhythmic absurdity.

Here's another brass demonstration performance. I really can't overstate how overwhelming this is. You feel the sound in your body. It's something you don't really think is possible with brass a hundred plus feet away from you.

You can look up full performances. Obviously, more recent performances are better quality, but one of my absolute favorites of all time is the 2001 Cavaliers performance titled, Four Corners. I ended up buying the DVDs of this one and you can switch cameras and audio tracks on the fly. Some of the audio tracks from the individual judges who adjudicate in different categories. At the end, there's one judge who breaks down and is essentially crying while heaping praise, shocked at how incredible the performance was.

Edit to add: The Cavaliers 2002 show is even better in almost every way. I forgot how good this one is. In 2002, this performance scored a 99.15, which was the highest score of any DCI performance ever.
