halfords call it somthing different i think but it still has the word vinyl in. It might be called vinyl spray or paint.

It is called vinyl die in halfords and comes in three colors. £9.99 for 500ml, also make sure you don't do too many thin layers as it makes the drive bay grainly to touch and look. No more than 5 layers.

The stuff I got from Halfords was called 'Flexible Vinyl Paint' (got the can in front of me now) It would be worth looking for that name as well :)

flexible stuff is the one...sorry forgot about that bit. you will be mighty chuffed once done...just not to many layers! also becarefull when the can starts to run out because they spitt and youll get nasty shinny blobs. Happy spraying!

Yep - real good stuff indeed - I've done the entire front panel of my Addtronics 8600 (****ing massive!) and I got a flawless finish despite me being less than good at spraying. In fact this paint's so good that you'll see all the imperfections in the plastic you're painting that you didn't think were there when it was beige!!!:D

If you get an uneven finish as well - don't worry! When I was doing some of the more intricate bits of the drive bay area I got an uneven shiny finish from overspray - Oh no I thought.... WRONG! I just sprayed another even coat over the panel again and voila! one perfectly even finish with no hint of previous **** up! exxxxerlent :D :dude:

Doh! My mate (who will go unmentioned, but is a member here ;)) did the same, messed up painting his drives.......

You can always sand them down and respray the bezels though (I did this once whilst experimenting with paints on my old CD drive, the paint actually started to bubble the surface of the plastic.............a bit of sanding, rubbing, humbrol model filler and polishing and all was fine again :)) or if you're really cheeky you can email the company who made your drives, saying that you bought it from a computer fair and when you got it home the bezel was cracked and the try was loose......well it worked with Liteon ;) so I keep my warranty but still get nice black faceplates........

    :)
