I am having a go a wrapping my daughters PC so it is nice and pink I have had no problems applying it but I have having problems doing the detail in a tidy way. this is the case http://www.pcnation.co.uk/product/15741/sharkoon-ca-m-micro-atx-itx-silver-mini-tower-compact-case/ On the side it has holes for fan breathing, how can I cut the holes in the vinyl to make it look tidy, as if it was OE. The larger holes like USB were easy I used a craft tool to cut in a H shape and I could fold it over but the fans holes are tiny, and so the folds are scrappy looking, what can I do? I'll pop a photo up later if you don't get me, i was thinking perhaps some attachment on my dremel might be useful but I am not sure.
Not sure as any method would make the vinyl wrap properly with all those tiny little holes, it would just want to rip I'd imagine. One method could be, cut out the meshed panel bit, make it a nice smooth round hole, and wrap the vinyl around that, which should be easier, then use a fan guard.
That is an option, but perhaps I am better off spray painting it, I doubt she would mind whatever I do she is only 7, its current lack of perfection eats away at me though
Yup the case comes completely apart, its like an IKEA flat pack at the moment. Not sure I want to manually cut them by hand, seems a bit hard core, it'd take ages
From experience vinyl wrapping at work. I would recommend heating the vinyl to it's curing temperature then letting it cool before using a very sharp knife from the inside on a hard surface. Wrapping such small amounts will leave very little for it to adhere to and will eventually peel by itself. Please please please use correct wrap material. It's more expensive but will make your life a lot easier.
Yup the panel I did yesterday has come unstuck in the small holes, I have just tried cutting from inside as suggested by impatience and yourself and it does indeed come out looking much more OE and actually doesn't take much longer than my prior method, so thanks for that This does of course mean I have to get the stuff off and start again It seems really well stuck on the case, is the best method to remove heat also, or alcohol? Good job I have loads of the stuff, I'll attack my car next ...... perhaps not, not even I am man enough to drive a hot pink MX5
you can take the vinyl off cold normally. But you will have to give it a strong tug. Alternatively heat the panel and remove. Use a tar remover to get the glue off.
