thnx for the vote of confidence. Today (actually as soon as I finish this sentence) begins the transformation. Going to remove everything out of my pc in order to cut the case. Wish me luck! Pics will be up later today!
Here you are: Bought this virgin puppy... never seen temps above -40C Question: Is it normal to hear a water gurgle? It sounds as if water is pouring into the compressor or something... Is that sound ok? Now to start overclocking!
haha.... i am in the process... anyone know of a good screenshot program that i can crop screenies with? I want to post some oc results.
Try and get faster than this : http://www.ministryofoverclocking.net/contests/viewscore.php?s=475 Pentium power . GJ, handsome case.
ok, did some prime 95 testing: my pc is not stable at 4.5ghz with HT enabled.... blue screen of death pops up after 5 mins. However with HT disabled, i ran prime95 all night long (7 hours) and no errors. What do you think i should do? reduce the clock to have a stable speed with HT, or leave it as it is? or try for more speed? Basically, is HT worth it or not? (i noticed my pcmark2004 score dropped almost 1000 points with ht disabled...) one other thing, anyone know a good guide for an asus p4c800e dlx to make my bios settings optimal for high oc? Im sure i can some how squeeze 4.5ghz with ht enabled if i had the right settings in the bios.
Could you run a 3DMark03 and 05 test, please? That is the most commonly used one when comparing performance.
HT is definately worth it, it's the one thing I really wish A64's had. Remember, "two" processors at 4.4ghz beats "one" at 4.5, etc. Well not really for gaming but the performance difference at those speeds is negligably anyways and it's absolutely worth it for any multitasking work. Not that you really need the second virtual proc at those speeds but I still notice a differenence personally. Nice work BTW
Did you consider going for a Prometeia 2 (Formerly known as Mach II GT). from the reviews iv read thay give lower temps. have a look at this link http://www.truextreme.com/modules.p...views&file=index&req=showcontent&id=41&page=4
i did consider, but here are few issues with the mach 2 gt 1)Company no longer exists... no warranty (unless the place you buy it from has there own instore warranty) 2)Rev 2 Vapochill LS works as good as the mach 2 gt 3)Vapochill LS is less expensive then the mach 2 gt.
Thay are about the same price in the UK around £567.63 ( http://store.over-clock.com/Refrigeration.html ) and i thought that Extreme Cooling Technologies produce them now ( http://www.extremecoolingtechnologies.com/ ) anyway ive been thinking of doing this for a long time but dont want to risk it, seems abit extreme for me. awesome work so far, keep it up.
