10:1 ratio, so 20mb down is 2mb up, 60mb down is 6mb up, etc. Going from 20mb to 60mb here, scheduled for feb/mar in my area. *edit to add* traffic management limits being increased also.
My download speed went up from 0.4Mbit to 1.2Mbit the other day. You guys make me jealous enough to take a bullet to the face.
To check out when doublespeed will happen in your area, click below: http://doublespeed.virginmedia.com/ Mine won't be October
april-july lol recently downgraded from 20 to 10 and now i get it back to 20 again Still hate their fair usage rubbish
Wooo Hoo! I'm on 50, so thought I'd get 100. Not so! Top tier 120Mb here we come!! http://www.thinkbroadband.com/news/4971-virgin-media-tweaks-the-edges-of-its-speed-uplift-plans.html
And all the while spend a thought for others 8 meg. 8 paltry meg. No cable, nor will they ever be here. BT have no plans to update our exchange to 21CN No plans at all for Fibre Optic from any of the companies The speed difference is the equivalent comparison to original broadband (512k) and dial-up(56k)
I am on a 2 MB connection with sky (they're !@?$ yes - went with them for the nice TV packages) I am actually considering moving to virgin later next week, even if I have to wait until March/April for it to be introduced in our area; I will get a higher download/upload connection and to top it all off it will be doubled!
Up to 60Mb for us in March-April, which is good. I'm not in any great rush as 20Mb is fine (except for the crappy "fair" usage policy), and it will be VERY interesting to see how I get on with 60Mb when downloading movies, and getting my new games from Steam.
I have a slight issue with this as I have the 100mb package and I only get 20% increase.... I hope they are planning to fully double up the 100mb customers for free once their infrastructure can handle it. Just had a further read through the link above to thinkbroadband and it looks like we're coming down in price so my issue is abated maybe I'll look into getting a Tivo box for my room.... When it's all said and done though you don't turn down free stuff
Was you're exchange unbundled by sky, as if not you are on sky connect which is one of the worst asdl packages to be on. Its all well and good Virgin increasing everyones speed but what about the backhaul as i doubt they will be increasing it massively.
