I don’t even know if this is possible but…

I have a XP Pro computer running on a domain logged in with admin right’s, full internet access etc. In Virtual PC 2007 I’m running XP Pro as a guest operating system. I want the guest operating system to have full access to internet but without the virtual pc connecting to the domain.

I.E. I want the guest operating system to access the internet using the host’s connection. Using some sort of pass-through.

    Any help much appreciated.

Is there a reason you need full access? Just set a user policy on the guest account.

I'm going to be running plenty of programs on the VM which will need to connect to the internet to download different things (files/modules/information etc). Also I don’t want to log on to the VM with an account as I’m trying to avoid having the VM connected to the domain at all. Hopefully the VM can just use the connection of the host machine (which is logged on to the domain) to get its connection.

Sorry if this isn’t very clear. I’m rubbish at explaining things.

Depends all on how the other PC access the internet and if internet access requires domain authentication.

Have a look at the TCPIP properties and see what the default gateway is set too, then put this in as the default gateway for the VM and see if you can connect.

You could also change the network setting in the virtual pc properties so that the connection is bridgged. If you require to auth on the domain to get internet, if the host machine can connect, you could also used share internet connection in the host machine, and point the virtual pc internet gateway to the host pc.
