    i have several viruses nams atart with istbar,dyfica, and generic. avg picked them up but don't think it did anything. anyone have a good virus eraser?

    Have you tried running avg in safe mode? It wont remove a virus if the file is in use by Windows at the time, running in safe mode means less files are in use, so it should be able to remove them. If the files are in system restore you will have to disable this too.

    Very good and light on resources scanner.

    They are not viruses, they are spyware. Download and install Microsoft Antispyware, then run a full scan.
