I'm installing Vista RC2 on my new rig in anticipation of it's official release at the end of the month - I've got an MSDN Universal licence so I'll have my proper copies within days of the launch. I'm just debating whether to install the 32-bit version or the 64-bit version for now. How good is the 64-bit version of RC2 and how much better (if at all) is the RTM version going to be? I'm using XP 64-bit at work, and although it performs well generally, there are a number of complications with running 32-bit software on it. I can only imagine it is even worse with Vista - the software has both the jump to 64-bit and Vista to contend with. Does anyone out there have any experience of 64-bit RC2? I'd like to go 64-bit of possible; there seems little point of having 64-bit capable chips when they aren't being used. Cheers Chris
i run the 64 bit vista rc2 and tbh i cant see how 64 bit is any use.. its nto any faster than the 32 bit one and theres barely any drivers
64 is native... allways go for native There will be some incompatibility for starters, but that will be smoothed out, don't worry...
I'm playing around with vista at the moment and I can't understand what all the fuss is about. Its XP but the menus have been buggered with so much that its totally illogical and the fonts for EVERYTHING look fuzzy even with clear type off at native 1280x1024 res on a TFT :/ It's as if "clear type" is forced for some fonts.
