how exactly do i go about getting glass to work on rc2. i've gone through what the help file says to do and its not on the themes list, only vista basic is. my graphics card is capable of running it and i've just updated to the newes forceware drivers. my spec is semrpon 3100 512mb pc3200 ram geforce 6600 pci-e if it helps here are the performance scores too processor: 4.2 memory: 2.9 graphics: 4.0 gaming graphics: 3.9 hard disk: 5.3 the ram is a bit on the low side, maybe i need a higher score to run glass? i cant find the info anywhere
Whats interesting is my Radeon 9600 got a better gaming graphics score than you - and I was under the impression scores couln't go over 5.0 :S Sorry, that wasn't useful - just some thoughts and musings
What are the specs on the card? EDIT: Maybe it uses the combined scores for working out if you need glass. In any case, there are registry hacks out there, a quick Googleing should find them.
yeah its the 128mb DDR version.. afaik a 128mb card is the required one for glass tho, it must be the ram thats the problem as its score is highlighted in grey for some reason too
got the registry hack working now.. runs absolutely fine, and after more poking about it seems you need 1gb of system ram for glass to work and 64mb video memory, so i was alright on one
Glad there is a registry hack, as I'm getting a lappy with 1gb of shared memory and wouldn't bother putting Vista on if it resorted to the basic skin. <A88>
in RC1 you can run it with 512mb, in RC2 you cannot unless you create the hack. I think the scores are out of 10.
