    thanks but i dont need help with grub at all. i just need to know how to fix vista - i guess i'll just reinstall

    yeah i did the repair with no luck. i tried reinstalling without a format but i couldnt so i have to copy my files and format :-\. oh well, clean is good.

    yup, new installs normally always work, if they dont, uve got a crap cd, if uve got a good cd, uve got a crap hdd
