    MythTV is pretty crap compared to media centre TBH.
    Have you tried google? there's a guide to getting mkv's working somewhere, I've done it before.

    I've found a reg hack to make the files show up in media centre but you'll still need the decoder/splitter (which you should have).
    This is at your own risk, but it worked alright for me:
    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mkv]
    "PerceivedType"="video"
    "Content Type"="video/x-matroska"

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Multimedia\WMPlayer\Extensions\.mkv]
    "Runtime"=dword:00000007
    "Permissions"=dword:0000000f
    "UserApprovedOwning"="yes"
    Paste that into notepad and save as something.reg
    Then double click and reboot.

    Tryed that, its not the showing up thats the problem, they show in media center but wont play because of codecs i think. the problem is i use cccp and media player clasic which are 32bit, but windows media center is 64bit because of 64bit windows, i beleve if i could get 32bit wmc on ti would use the current codecs but i tryed a build of ffdshow 64bit and it did't work (because i have a 32bit version along side aswell?)

    Can anyone help? :blush:
