Windows vista problems

    i recently got vista on a disk but when i click the setup shortcut it says i dont have appropriate permision to access the item

    Do you have Admin rights on the box?

    yes i think i do also if i click another setup link it says there is isscript.msi older version ive installed the updates but nothing new happens

    Are you currently running XP Home or XP Professional? Once we have figured this out, then we can find out whether or not you have Admin rights. It still sounds like a permissions problem to me.

    im running xp home i also explored the disk and found another link were it said i had a isscript problem the disk is a copy of an oringional i got off my friend

    It would be recommened to just bootup the dvd. It would make it a lot simpler.

    i got the original disk that worked on my friends pc but it still wont work on mine
