My number one reason for installing vista is the Media Center Application. I haven't played games a lot lately so I'm not too concerned about gaming performance. Another reason is the ease of RAID installation. Apparently you no longer need a floppy drive or anything. It will just automatically detect or something. <- This is my main question. What do I need to know about vista raid before I do a Raid 0 stripping setup? Will the videos and music on my 320gb storage HD transfer? Will BF2142/Counter Strike: Source install on Vista? I have an AMD 64 cpu. Should I use 64bit or 32? <- Or should I pick the one with better drivers and re-install when everything is a little less buggy. Is there a way to transfer my Operating system onto my Storage HD so that I can easily Transfer it back onto one of my raptors should I decide I don't like Vista? When I set up Vista on my 2x74gb raptors in raid 0 can I partition it into 2 74gb Partitions so that I can install Windows xp onto one half of my raid setup? <- No I do not need all 130gb's for either operating system.
Like I said in my post It's one of my reasons for upgrading. I bought the raptors for raid specifically. Not so I'd have two extra hot drives in my case. I just don't see a problem doing a partition? I'm just wondering if there is one.
btw, vista has a lot of time wasting security.. if u didnt know.. its otherwise very good. and yes ur games will install on vista however, depending on ur specs, they will run slow.. (vista is slow on a slow comp)
also i found that 64bit(XP) didnt have a lot of support for 32 bit apps.. eg zonealarm.. im not sure if vista is much better.. it also depends if the software supports 64bit as well.. good luck..
