Just finished a large bottle of Absolut black 50% vodka and really enjoyed its brash but flavorful taste. What next? I have tried Grey Goose, Zubrowka and the usual Absolut but I fancy a change. I hear a lot of things about Chopin vodka and I will probably try that next, anything else that I should consider?

Chopin is ok, but there are better Polish vodka. If you can find it in London, I would reccomend giving Starka a try. It's a bit different as it is rye based, but has a very good flavor.

The plain vodka is the smoothest I've had, a great sipper - it sits in my cupboard next to the Pulteney 21yo and the Zacapa Centenario Black - it's that good. The black cherry is utterly delicious on ice or in cocktails. I find the vanilla horrible, but then I find every vanilla vodka in existence horrible, so probably not the best judge if that's your thing.
Balkan 176 is basically a ready made molotov cocktail. It's also vile and quite seriously dangerous Unfortunately, I speak from personal experience.
Freezer cold 42 Below. Break over ice. Pour. Slice of cucumber and twist of black pepper. Drink. The pepper and cucumber removes the smell and mellows the after taste. I defy you to find a better Vodka for under £20. Steer well clear of Belvedere / Grey Goose / "Premium Brands"
Yes, thats it. There is some other one I love from Poland that is herbal and looks sort of orange in color, but I don't remember the name off hand. Also you might look for some Ukranian Horilka, some of those are quite good. I don't remember the brands right now either, but one I remember being realy good was a milky grey looked sort of like very salted water. Also some of the horilka z pertsem is very nice.
