Hi everyone, first post here so go gentle.

I'm wondering if any software exists, that would allow me to have a constantly open(this is preferable to needing to hit a button to open it) communication channel over a LAN. It's for use while gaming.

I tried teamspeak, but it wants me to connect to servers online, at least to set it up, but the computers I want it on don't have internet connections.

So, can anyone reccomend some easy to use software that allows me to do this? It only needs to be between two computers(mine and my brothers), but it would really improve gaming for us, so any suggestions are much apreciated :)

As ST8 said, you could run a teamspeak server on your LAN. Alternatively as it's only you and your brother, you could just shout loudly...

not adviseable in the middle of the night when wearing head phones so you cant tell how loudly you are shouting and end up waking half the house :worried:

    :D

I got it working using the server, thanks guys. It seems a wee bit dodgy, even when logged in as the superadmin, some of the options won't save, and I'm still not sure how to actually change the codec, only know how to turn lot's on or off.

Overall though it's good. Oh and we used to shout through the hallway, but as planki said, it has a habit of annoying other people in the house at 3am, plus, we're hoping to use it at the LAN's we goto. Thanks again for the replies.
