Cheaps, This is the guy who ships that Aluminum battleship case we ALL lust after all over. Whats a little plexi or alu? John
Exactly my point. I'd like to know if I'm going to get pooched on shipping of BATTLESHIP parts. -Anyway... I'm in. I cut my finger and can't do anything 'til it heals. Forgive the roughness. My Sketchup-fu is weak. I'm seriously NOT liking the lack of alignment tools, etc...
@Skullen - nah, dude. The feet were way better. Big stepped bases should be reserved for science fair projects and wedding cakes. Even Architecture professors poo poo them now. We need more people in this contest!!! Where is everybody? This is fun! Get naked-er I mean, get to modeling.
Skull, I like it, but I thought you would continue the lines down uner the base to form feet. (I just realised its your design not mine )
i'm lurking he he cant be botherd to keep posting done some changes nothing worth of a picture update tho
@ Cheapskate: That pump top looks cool, but very hard to machine. Especially those S-curved outlets, but also those tube/pipes in the top section that intersect at an angle.. I'm guessing that it's Sketchup that's holding you back atm, and that you have future refinements planned already... am I way off? [edit] I almost forgot.. have you read this Laing DDC 3.2 (MCP 355) Pump Top Test Comparison? There's a "Possible Design Tweaks" section at the bottom that might be of interest. [/edit]
@Macros - I'm just going for the general concept there. I know I could make this with 2 stock tops and 2 sheets of plexi, it would just have channels milled in instead of the bore job. I'd probably make it much more complicated in real life too. (Dual layer maze intake, anyone?) I'm surprised no one dissed me on the custom extruded WC colplates for the hardrives. That one I could never afford in real life. -silverstone-ification... -Squid. I like to build cases that stare back.
I like the eye Cheapskate, that case looks like it needs crab legs attached to it. (to me anyway lol)
Speaking of building things for real, what would be the best/cheapest way to cut the bottom half of my design into 3mm Aluminium? (Thinnest bridge is about 5mm, thinnest hole is probably closer to 2mm.) Sorry for the off topic post but I'mm new to modding and I don't want to make a new thread.
I love it although I think you couold do something a little different for the side panels, they look a bit strange. What if you extended the fins (?) to join the front/bottom ones?
Looks good. I just noticed with the front grill wrapped around, you don't even need the feet.hehe: This from a guy with a 2 legged case. )
