I know it seems kind of like a fluff story, but I think this says a lot about the American persona and "public morals"
Yeah, there is something wrong with that picture. Nobody's out in the streets shooting their next hardcore film. Seriously, what's the big deal? If you've looked down in the shower once in your life, you know what half the population is dealing with. It's not some big secret, and there's certainly no damage being done.
I don't know about that. With America, public morals, social norms, and way of life can differ drastically from state to state. Vermont is known as being an extremely liberal state, so I guess this might just test the limits of their liberalism. In an innocent world, I would agree with Firehed, but sadly, we haven't gotten to that point yet. A lot of families will not bring their families and children there because of this, and Vermont relies heavily on tourism to support local economies.
I think they're completely within reason if they want to ban nudity in their main street, shopping center, etc. If they want to be liberal and allow nudity, they could allow it in areas where there are likely to be less people, and in swimming areas, etc. It sounds like the senior citizen walking around was trying to be an a-hole.
I wonder if nudity is illegal in Florida. Alligators wouldn't complain if it isn't. Others voting for nudity are: mosquitoes, gnats, black flies, horse flies, bees, wasps, stinging midges, hornets, sand fleas, fleas, ticks, ring worms, centipedes, scorpions, and spiders.
Not really in favour of public nudity - it just makes people unconfortable im sure, and theres 100x more people you would rather NOT see naked than you'd like to see naked.
And only the people that you don't want to see naked will be walking around naked. It seems that the minium age for nudist beaches is 150. And the old farts while always try to find the highest spot to stand, showing off what nobody wants to see. Yes I'm mentally scared by this, the image to a 60 years old guy naked on a surfboard is impossible to forget
