LED resistors are not required for this chip. The pot should be a linear one. Adjusting it will vary the zero or start point of the meter. I would suggest a 4K7 pot to limit the maximum voltage from the speaker since the voltage will be too high, causing the meter to read full all the time.
cheer macro and linear, you are the guru's ! does the rest of the circuit look ok, i dont want to put it all together and find nothing works Lastly any ideas where i can get the parts for all this ?
Just so happens I bougt a VU meter kit from Velleman today, works just great. It's a stereo 2x10 LED VU meter with both high & low inputs for speaker-out or line-out connection. Paid 25 € for it. Basically cause I was too lame to build one myself
wtf??? cypher, you're really the offtopic freak you know lol, we're talking about chips and suddenly you come here with a pic of a blown fish as an example of how you look, lol
no relix and i quote Then someone asked him about a fish, and he posted a link, so i look at the picture, and thought it would be a laff.
RIGHT!!! Im gonna be making one of these, im going to try and order the parts form rapid electronics tomorow, but im not sure what i need. I will want 4 red led's at top, 4 green in middle and 2 blue at bottom. Anyone got the Rapid codes thought for us both? thats waht we need, because we dont have catalogues i think lol BTW, boyce i cant see your diagram doesnt show on forums im afraid
