Here here... and not only are they all old, but those el-string rounded cables are terrible - use google to find a review if you don't believe me :)

I just got a pair of blue CC fans, the problem being that the cathodes aren't 80mm across, they're getting towards 90mm. So I can only fit them up front in my PC60, rather than at the back exhaust, as the fit is rather tight back there. The cathode is a lovely colour, though.

<moderator>The point is well made that most of us prefer making our own mods. But that doesn't call for "getting all OCP" as draxin puts it. I've deleted pointless posts that served no purpose.</moderator>

Wha? Interfere with what and how would EL sheet interfere any less?

...and I think you'd have a lot of problems trying to bend el sheet around an ide cable :worried:

WIth the inverter it's like 100V going through the EL wire. Do you really want a 100V line wrapped around your IDE cables?

i thought the 100v ac was at high freq and would interfere with all the wires in the ide cable but i havent really played with neon / el stuff so nevermind and i thought el sheet was flimsy enough to wrap around the rounded ide cable so i must be thinking of summat else :-/

Yeah you might worry about noise from the invertor but it's as bad for el-sheet as it is for string - they both use the same process to emit light :)

i know that but obviously as the cables work it cant interfere too much so a complete tube of glowy stuff would look better than a pansy smile imo

i was being lasy earlier and didnt explain too well

Maybe wrapping cables in foil before putting on the EL sheet would lower the interference.

I have my cables wrapped in EL wire, and have had NO problems with it. I have the silver round IDE cables, and the silver braid around the cable pretty much shields it from any interferance.

But that soap still tastes like crap, and didn't do much to wake me up after eating a whole bar.:naughty:
