Apple Waiting for my (semi)HD powerbook...

Anyone else ordered one of the new high-def powerbooks? I got a few upgrades to mine so it's not shipping til 01/11 - I can't wait!

I just went and picked one up from the London store.

Initial impressions: 1.67GHz is FAST. I moved from a 1GHz G4, and the speed difference is amazing. So much more snappy.

The screen is a far nicer resolution. I always thought the res was too low on the PBs, this is far nicer - although the difference isn't actually enormous - you'll struggle to see a huge gain in screen estate. However, things just feel a nicer size.

Superdrive - yeehaw! Finally. I've had to hook up an external DVD-R for the last year, so it's great to have that built in (with dual layer, iDVD HD support etc).

The lighted keyboard and scrolling trackpad are unbelievably funky.

Other than that, it's kind of the same, but more. Top stuff.
