    Hi folks,

I'm looking for a recommendation please for a "Wake on LAN" app that I can use from my LAN and (if possible) also from the internet to wake my Proliant N40L.

I'd like a Windows 7 and an iOS version if such a thing exists.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Cleggy.

You may find that you can't WOL from the internet. Most routers won't allow that type of packet to be broadcast across a network when it originated from the internet.

    from internet:
access DD-WRT router page remotely -> Administration tab -> WOL

    from local:
link Apple Remote app to your itunes library on your computer. then simply launch the app, it will wake the computer it attempts to connect.

eg. on iphone, i only have my Win7 gaming machine set. launch the app and close it will start up my machine. on ipad, i have AppleTV and Win7 machine set, launch remote in AppleTV won't start Win7, but select win7 in the app will start up Win7.

that's pretty much only use for the Remote app......

Should do. PXE is a separate function.

Got this sorted. I can shutdown my server via it's web interface, and have found mWOL free in the apps store for waking it up. Simples!
