i am thinking of watercooling my pc and then wall mounting the bugger. i am pretty sure this was done one these forums some years ago ( yep check my reg date heh). cant seem to find the thread via the search. anyways the wall i am thinking mounting my pc on is the external wall. i suppose i would need some super heavy duty racks and make damn sure it don't fall on me. any suggestions please?
8 posts in 5 years? LOL. Anyway.. I can't see the difficulty in doing this. You mean wall mounting a normal ATX case? I can think of loads of ways to do that. Cable management would be the hard part.
it would be quite easy, seeing as big plasma TVs gan weigh all of 30 KG sometimes, and there are wallmounts for those aswell. Granted, they are pricey, but there are modder's alternatives.
The problem you would have is that it would need to be supported from underneath, no way is there enough strength in the side panel to hold it all together the case would either peel off the wall of the side panel would just pop straight off.
You could just use...... L brackets and long screws (the ones use to make wall hanging shelves. You can get them at any DIY store)
not water cooled yet. tho i am sure i show some pics on these forums eons ago. its one idea that has been playing on my mind for some time. as for 8 posts in 5 years i have been visiting these forums quite often just i have never replied or taken part in discussions here as when i browse usually after midnight most days anything i wanted to say has always been said someone. anyways i intend to source most of my wc gear 2nd hand and MM here requires 75 posts:/
you mean some thing like these? they might do the job i think http://www.screwfix.com/prods/38975...-Pack-of-2;jsessionid=IIS2DGQEOHTESCSTHZOSFFY
Just a thought, but one could actually mount the frame to the wall rather than the side panel. The case would be somewhat damaged but then again, how often do you move a case? Drilling through the frame and panels (at the top) should make it "dangle-free".
