I am very very very very very upset. Earlier this aftrenoon I purchased a three pack of Walnut Whips (for the first time in several years) I was shocked to find that on all three there was only a tiny piece of a walnut. :nono:I remember them as having a half walnut on on each.

Am I being unreasonable or are all sweets being downsized but are costing a lot more?

I still ate all three and they were lovely:rolleyes: but I would have liked bigger nuts :D (wouldnt we all?)

The sweetie-making companies are trying to balance rising costs and inflation with good value. Very often they try and skimp on the fancy sprinkles whilst keeping the same size.

Would you rather they made it 20% smaller with half a walnut? :p

How about buying a bag of walnuts and a current whip, then just melting a whole one onto the top? :D

You could even go batshit crazy and melt a whole bunch onto one, covering it in walnuts. :hehe:

If I tried that, the walnuts would be eaten before I even made it home >.>

I'd have to take a camping stove and do it outside the store or something.

:hehe: It seems that the whip should be bypassed and you should just buy a f'n hooge bag of walnuts.

I try not to do that - I'd look like a damned walnut if I did that as often as I craved 'em.

I do go a bit crazy on them at christmas, though.

I also love coffee&walnut cake, with extra walnuts >.>

Rkiver: I'll be over in a sec to help you with those walnuts :p

I know what you mean lirath, I'm the same with roasted cashews. No-one even buys them anymore (especially honey roast ones, my god) because I can't be stopped.

That looks far too unhealthy to be considered, but by god does it sound good.

I'm dangerous with Cashews myself, mainly chinese with cashew nuts in or unsalted ones.. I think every man has a nut he adores, though :D

I'm the opposite with walnut whips, I'm pleased to see less walnut on there as you can guarantee I'll get the really bitter one which will ruin the rest of it. I'd replace them all with yummy pecans if I had my way :)

But that's half the fun! Is the walnut god going to love you, or whack you for not eating enough delicious walnuts.. Or even too many?
