It wouldn't hit anybody if it had a real gun on, it only does because it tracks in front of the movement and because paintballs are slow (compared to a bullet). The side-effect of the off calculations is that it hits people because they 'run' into the paintball.
i do believe that it could be adjusted to fire a real gun, just tweak it a little. however, i dont know what it would be that safe, as it is not able to differeniate between friend and foe. imagine a child not yet able to read walking into the kill zone.
sureley you would put it some place where people deffinatly shouldn't be e.g in a bank safe.... or at the end of the euro tunnel comming into England, may seem harsh though of corse you would have a trip switch when theres and emergancy
