right here goes i posted thsi elsware but no respanse so i thought id give you all a little giggle . Right last week me and my mate thought wouldn't it be a good idea to bodge an Acrylic cube case for this little mobo i got. So off we go and i buy a nice big sheet enough for the project anyway. So we get hoem with all the bits we need we then go about marking out the sheet lovely we go as its all done then comes the problem how the hell do we cut this beast out. Plan A hack saw it , B Dremel it out hmmmm bit big for both then along comes the Rebel thread so off i go and buy my self a new toy this solved 2 things 1 i had a new toy and 2: i was sligtly down in the dumps and this perked me up a bit (for the ladys its a boys thing). Right got the new toy and test it out cuts like a dream but not very straight as straigh as a round about lol, so i hunt down some sort of straight ende ahhh i see a nic elong piece of Stainless steel Box section lovely now how the hell do we clamp it hmmm we give up on this one. Right the situation now is that we got a a big piece of acrylic and small bit that we cut with the rebel so the big bit is still sitting down stairs waitn g fo my dad to take it too work nad bandsaw it (as i do not have enough confidance to use the band saw) Right so heres the funny thing With the remanding acrylic that we cut using the rebel we had a go at making a mini cube and thats how it turned out the thing was stuck together with araldite and it didn't stick verywell. I was trying to copy this little Titanium cube i've got that my dad made me out of TI. Now this little cube has now encoureged us to scrap the big cube idea and quite while we are behind lol. What you guys think Funny no
Well, you got one thing right--practice by making little boxes first. That's the best way to get good at doing glue joints in acrylic. Dude, don't bail, just keep after it. Once you get the hang of doing a straight edge, it gets easier. You got lots of material to practice on. And get the right glue too.
yeah but living in a hole (south UK) doesn't help as i can't find that cement stuff and the araldite was crap o and the funny part is that none of the sides are straight
hey dude what part of south-east do you live in? Im in kent, not far from ashford. I know its really annoying u cant get many decsent nodding parts down here, after spendin ages going throguh DIY stores I still couldnt find a place that sells suitable plexi for a window
