Give me 2k any day, 3 reasons why I didn't like XP.

My pa bought XP, so me thought I'll install it on mine, try it for the 30 days and register if all was well.

Niggle Number 1 - It would not install on my GeForce 2 card, so I had to swap my video cards around to install it.

Niggle Number 2 - I accidentally installed some old drivers which brought up a popup "Some drivers have been disabled" which was annoying, so I deleted the drivers and the CD drives dissapeared, so I download the update, but It won't install cos theres no drives, so I restore the files from the recycle bin and the update still didn't work cos XP claimed the current drivers were the best ones.... damn... reformat time...

Niggle Number 3 & The Killer - One night, I shut down XP, turn the power off and go to bed. I switch XP on the next morning... and a nice blue screen... restart... blue screen... restart.. whoops JAMMED

I think that XP tries to be more helpful than it is useful, and those bleeding popups!! And don't get me started on the so called wonderful "Recovery Console" or the wonderful driver rollback... :grr:

    two words..

simply because you can get away with something does not mean that it is something worth doing :eyebrow:

to me, stealing comes down to one simple thing... which way do you wish to live life; the easy way, or the rewarding way?. Fine, steal whatever you want; steal a car, a tv, whatever you want. Steal everything that a job would normaly get for you, happy? no? why would you be, you have no purpose in your life, everything you want can be stolen at everyone elses cost, so what to do with the rest of your life? got an answer? I dont.

thats just a simplified version; what I'm really trying to say is, if you want the best, work for it! if you want an OS, get 98.. hell get 3.1 if your really that cheap! You dont deserve windows XP simply because you want it; I want to be rich, I'm not about to rob a bank for it.. I'm getting myself certified in X (I say X because theres such a long list it would be a waste of time to show it), and I'll 'make' myself rich (well, heres hoping).

    Note:
I myself am a student, if I can $150 for an OS then so can you. theres always a way, just stop spending until you have the $$/££/€€.

<on a side note, I would have replied sooner but I was over-hauling my pc.. 'giving it a good seeing to' :hehe:>

    Back on topic:
XP good, Update bad. I guess. I think. I'm told. :worried:
