It's like the dremel with routing attachment permanently attached. Dunno how that'd do with cutting steel or anything, but it looks to act something like a router.
I have a Dremel brand router, and unfortunately it doesn't do sheet metal. There's a bit that'll do aluminum, but that doesn't help me since I'm too cheap to ever be able to afford an aluminum case. Most likely, since Dremel can't do it, none of them can do it.
The bit isn't permanently attached. You can swap the bit out for different types depending on what you're cutting through (it's not really a router bit, but a specific sideways cutting bit). Generally, it's a basic drill and sideways cutting tool which can be used with the circle cutter attachment that's available. I'm pretty sure that while offering less fine control over rotation speed, it does produce more torque because it's meant to be used with sideways cutting bits. You can also remove the bit and attach a cutting wheel (which is larger than the dremel's). Decent tool, some people swear by em, and that looks to be a pretty good deal.
I think that company has now gone bust, so getting spares in the future may be hit and miss. However, it does have a very powerful motor for the machine size, and there are/were lots of accessories available for them. I just checked ebay, and you can get them for £18.
Rotozips = Awesome. The top router looking part comes off and you put an angled attachment on the top (dont think it comes with that kit) and you put otehr tools (cutting/buffing/sandign discs) on top. The cutting discs for the rotozip are way awesome and last way longer then dremel ones.
So it's like a beefed up dremel?! *long string of curses* I spent a good 20 minutes between that router looking thing and a dremel. Both were dremel branded though... But man...
i have a rotozip i paid £50 and got the rotomate its not a bad tool it cuts plexi with ease with no burning and leaves a lovely finish. Its not well designed for cutting metal though although the site does say that it can cut very thin aluminum havn't tired it yet but will do soon. It comes with quite a few cutting bits for all sorts of other materials and is damn powerfull it spins at over 300rpm with some serias torque behind it the roto mate is a damn good angegrinder and does the job nic. For £18 you can't go wrong basicly its damn ncie piece of kit.
