hehe, fancying trying to make an 'o'-ring groove with a drill press or dremel? Not me! It'll be sealed with thick contact adhesive type glue and plumbers tape on the barbs.

I bought my resevoir today, not an original idea but never the less a good one. I'll post pics when i get home tonight.

Only need pump, tubing, a couple of heatercores and a few little bits and bobs and i'll be up and running
i'll test the cpu block and then make the NB and gfx blocks :)

thx for all the positive feed back

Sorry, i forgot i hadn't updated this! Initial tests were a bit disapointing. about 3-4 degrees better then my AlphaPAL.

    Looked like this:

Pump in the res was the only way i could get it up and running so temps were pretty poor and airflow was bad because there was no shroud.

After some re-arrangement i decided i'd clean it all out, the cpu block had some debris from the rad in it which was killing performance, i also wanted to try the other radiator and made a shroud for it.

    Looks like this now:

Running much better at 46 degrees load at 2.1v, compared to 50ish before but no air comparison. The resevoir is really bad though, throws loads of air into the system so i imagine there is still some improvement to be had.

This is the fastest super-pi run i got.

So quite pleased with the results.

Is that a quaker oats box as a shroud? Brilliant! :) Very nice work with this block olv and the results look good. Whats next? Design tweaks maybe?

shhhh :worried: it's an ultra 'special' modding material, top secret

I'm gonna be making the NB and GFX blocks first before i start redesinging the cpu block. Then i'll see what improvements can be made :) Plus there is the custom case that this will all end up in.

Sorry i missed your post. I used a free trial of Corel Designer 10. was really simply to use and worked pretty well, perfect for a complete CAD noob like me.

There you go... you'll have to try and extract meaning from my previous posts of explanation.

I'm in the process of making a new CPU block but it's proving to be very annoying with the tools i have so i might just give in a buy one. I am going to start on my NB and GFX blocks soon though.

    Hope the pictures are useful.

If i were to suggest some design improvements for any of you that were to attempt to make a similar designed block then they would be to increase the number of cups in the base. The ammount i used just isn't enough. You want to use at least double. Also, I used 3 or 4mm base holes with 2mm jet holes but i think it would be better to use 2mm base holes with 1mm jet holes but make the cups very close together, very compact. Would require some precise drilling but performance would be much better imo.
