thanks - thats the look im going for - the colourscheme has taken me ages to finalise but the general attention to detail i am trying to put in takes up the bulk of the time every time i get a section done, i spot ten more things i want to do!!! i know, its addictive! i hated it at first and my 8 pin adapter turned out a little wonky however - the rest of my sleeving has turned out great, i am really happy with it i know it has been done to death but it does look great thinking of buying another batch of sleeve to do more bits and pieces
right then - a bit of a turnaround after my holiday my initial plan was to get a pair of blocks for my 285's these cards were not reference design so this has hindered me slightly in the fact that i cannot get blocks from v1 or v1 285's to fit my graphics cards [good work ASUS] so i had to sell my 285s [at a loss ] meaning i had a choice between a single pcb 295 or crossfire 4890s so im going for the 4890s as i fancy a change will have the cards tomorrow and plan on ordering the nickel/acetal blocks from EK this week not ideal as i wanted koolance to match my chipset block but beggars cant be choosers plus i doubt they will be in my rig longer than 6 months anyway
new cards are here and being tested in my current rig i will have to wait until some funds become available to order my blocks from EK i have also ordered a bunch of fittings to arrive shortly: 1X Bitspower G1/4 Black Sparkle Rotary 45 4X Bitspower G1/4 Black Sparkle Stop Fitting 1X Bitspower G1/4 Black Sparkle Rotary 90 1X Bitspower Premium Black Sparkle D-Plug Set NORMAL 14X Bitspower G1/4 Black Sparkle Compression Fitting - 7/16" to 5/8"
of course looking at these blocks... nickel plated backs mean they look sweet and should match the koolance block better too i originally wanted the koolance 285 blocks but they didnt fit my silly asus cards which were non ref design so i sold the cards and got these lovely 4890s im running them now and i have to say - im noticing no difference in performance
some EK blocks arent to my taste [i have a dislike of all clear/seethrough watercooling hardware] - but i have the fantastic Supreme on my cpu and plan on using the X58 Mosfet blocks on my board too however - these are easily the nicest looking i have seen so far its going to be expensive getting the nickel plated ones as the only stockest i can find is EK direct however I emailled ChilledPC [my regular WC supplier] to see if they had any of the nickel plated ones - the answer was no but they can nickel plate the blocks for me to match the pics above [significantly less than the EKs would cost due to shipping/import taxes etc] many thanks to Tom from ChilledPC for suggestion the idea and being so quick in his replies to me. also - some of my bitspower fittings arrived today [got more - these are the interesting ones] black sparkle nickel plating is epic, my [fail]photography does not do them justice i need over 20 compression fittings to match and kit out the system - currently trying to find a european supplier with the fittings i need: Bitspower Premium G1/4" High Flow 7/16" ID (5/8" OD) Compression Fitting Model: BP-BSCPF-CC6 if anyone can help on this it would be greatly appreciated
bit of work done this evening just odds and ends until my watercooling turns up still need my gpu blocks and other stuff - but european supplies of WC components seems to be dwindling no supply of EK blocks anywhere in the UK although i have managed to get a source for my bitspower fittings heres my switch pcb all braided up and reinstalled - i have a hammond box that i am in the process of cutting too some holes i cut in the motherboard tray for 24pin/8pin adapters and put beading round the cut edges to finish them off installed the rear fans and temporary guards [until my black ones come] heres the case as it stands the top half of the case sorted
got one waterblock today not too happy as i wanted another but could only secure one the other is on its way from Germany to match this EK have impressed me with this one! i also got the rest of my fittings, 20X 7/16 bitspower compression fittings
finally managed to source a side panel for my TJ07 the case i had was discounted due to it being missing, after a few emails to Silverstone in Germany - a new one arrived many thanks to Annika @ Silverstone for helping me out and getting the panel to me so quickly many have said that the TJ07 has specific panels that fit the individual case the panels ship with due to how it is made looks like i was in luck as mine fits perfectly planning a mod for the window at a later date also got a pack of Silverstone Aero Slots and some single slot PCI plates for my 4890's getting these sprayed black at the moment ---------------------------------------------------------- Had a power cut this morning so no gaming, thought it was a great opportunity to get in the shed and do some modding got a tray from an Antec 1200 at work that i thought may make a good mount for my DDC pumps heres a test fit to show where the pump mount will go i put some acoustipak on it to deaden the sound/vibrations from the pumps used some ehiem mounts to mount the pump, although i may mount them on top of these and use rubber grommets i got from an old striker motherboard to stabilise the pumps like this: mounted like this in my old rig also got a load of stuff from B&Q [hardware shop] today some black satin spray paint a set of P-clips large and small some cutting blades for my Dremel some machine screws - perfect self tapping screws for mounting fans to Thermochill Rads ; heres the P-clips: they are white plastic, wanted black ones but they will be hidden behind the mobo tray and i guess they match the fans
