Feast your eyes on this: :dude:

    http://www.cpufx.com/

    http://216.110.166.238/ (Overclockers Hideout)

Both are US sites, but what makes them so special, is that they sell (drumroll): 12V magdrive water pumps (681 l/h, 2 psi @ 4 ft.).

That's right: 12V @ 1.2 A! No more messing with power cables, PSUs and relais! Just plug into your 12V PSU molex and go!

Besides being very compact, they are built around the same principle as Eheim pumps, and therefore very reliable and quiet.

Yeah unfortunately they do sell the ITT jabesco 12v pump there(sounds like a nice pump, and only 12v pump that is rated for continuous use that i know off). Funny thing is they totally ripped the description from someone at procooling forums that found out about this thing! I really really do not trust those guys and would never buy from them. If another company sells them, then i would consider picking it up. I say consider because it costs $99usd :eeek:

You're absolutely right of course. Having done some more forum reading on several sites I notice that CPUFX/OCH are not well regarded... and for good reason, it seems.

Their blocks are apparently crap (sloppy design), the 500GPH reservoir with pump has the life-span of a mayfly (it contains a Rule submergible bilge pump which is not designed to run continuously), and generally their stuff seems rather overpriced.

I have found that the CMD 12V pump they sell is indeed the Jabsco 12V magdrive pump (part no. 59500-0012), rated to run for 2500 hrs. continuous under rugged conditions (in fact I was underway to the forums to tell people this when I found your posting). I'm sure it can be had cheaper than $99,--, but the UK it is sold for £94,-- by:

    http://www.southernmarine.co.uk/
(there you are, now you don't have to give CPUFX/OC your money :D)

I know, it is pricey. But is does offer a lot of advantages: it is smaller, easier to install (power supply wise), starts with your PC and shuts down with it (without relais or hacking into your PSU) and whether you haul your PC to a 115V or 240V country, it is always adaptable just by flicking the switch on your PSU. A search on the Web reveals that the pump is very highly regarded in the automotive industry (e.g. http://www.sportmachines.com/parts/survey/icpump.html).

Ametek sells a similar pump, 10 GPM (2271 l/h) @ 8psi :here: but tiny it ain't, and I have found no pricing yet.

I am continuing to look for other pumps, but the Jabsco looks like a good bet. For those who like to stay with 240V magdrive pumps, check out these babies :here:, but note that the GPM values on the page are a typo: they mean GPH. ;)

Can I be cheeky and add the new tekheads sister site, www.extremecooling.co.uk :)
All watercooling gear is now sold through there with free delivery.

Don't think neone has mentioned em.. but http://www.cooltechnica.com in the U.S. are from my experience a superb company.
Since my initial purchase of a full kit from them a few months back I've had the odd disaster (as u do ;) ) and their man Bruce has since sent me a new peltier at cost price along with some other bits... and now this week sent me free of charge a new mounting kit for my waterblock and some alternative 1/2" barbs for it!!
Without sounding too much like an advert for them, their customer service imho is second to none.

Slight cross post here, I posted elsewhere in the forum before I found this thread. (sorry)

I've started a UK site selling the German Aqua-Computer range for UK and US customers at www.wizarddesigns.co.uk
Still under construction right now but getting more functional every day. :)

icecube - I don't want to disrupt this thread too much so feel free to direct any enquiries to enquiries@wizarddesigns.co.uk

I launched the site last Monday (22nd July) and so haven't dealt with many people yet (although the enquiries are coming thick and fast) but you can find my first satisfied customer here (I go under the handle of Infidel on the Ars forums).

Credit Card facilities are being arranged (NoChex and Paypal should be sorted by Monday with any luck) but the Aqua-Computer components won't be in for about 2 1/2 weeks anyway.

Totally understandable to be worried, I'd be the same. :)
