alright well i soon plan on buying a new case and putting all my parts into it and then i plan also to cut a custom window design in the side panel now i know ther are a couple ways to cut into the side panel such as laser cutting and using an old fanshoined dremel but there is this lady in our local town that cuts plates of steel and makes those like black sillouttes of cowboys and horses and stuff and i am not fully sure on the tool she uses i have seen her do it once and it appears to be a torch but a very fine one of that.....and she cuts out designs like the one here http://www.woodchuck-creations.com/870_DDK_009.JPG so i was wandering if i could get her to cut my case?? like she cuts pretty thick steel so i was thinking she could do mine but i know mine is a differnt type of steel like alot lighter so........would it just total my case??

ask her. Take it in and have her cut out a small piece that you can cut around with the dremel in case it doesn't work

Dremmel is good but quite slow, I have used jigsaw with steel cutting blade but you have to be pretty good using a jigsaw (have to tape the area your cutting so as to not sctatch the case with the jigsaw base).

Panel nibblers are good if you can get hold of some, they nibble a 2mm wide strip out of the material, you have to be good with those though (more commonly used by car body repairers :)

if you cant, i prefer a jigsaw to a dremel, i never get a clean edge with a dremel

and get hold of a good file, one with a comfortable handle ;)

I say use a jigsaw with a 22tpi blade. I have one like that, and I rarely touch my dremel anymore
