Got my new raptors installed, Raid0, on Abit IC7-Max3 mobo on the SiliconImage chipset. Did sandra, scored 45k, pretty low. Any ideas anyone?

    What's a good block size?

What's a good allocation unit size?

The setup is for the main system drive that windows boots from with all the programs.

    Thanks...

That seems very low for those drives - heres what my RAID0 raptors get:

That benchmark is from Sandra version: 2003.7.9.73

The drives are connected to my Asus A7N8X Deluxe which uses the Silicon Image 3112 controller chip.

Im not sure what the settings used are as the drives were set up automatically by the chip?

Every review and test I've seen for a HD used the smallest block size available when setting up a RAID array. I think most mobo's with a built-in RAID controller have the smallest block size set at 16K.

I've seen a review for Raptors that had a sandra screenshot of 71k score with 128k block size...

i have the same board, use the controller on the southbridge, then intel one, should pick things up slightly.
