Oh I like that!! That’s absolutely gorgeous. The headset and that brake on the rear really do work with those cranks. Proper nice stuff!

Yeah I was wary about coloured parts. They look good though :)

    The pink looks nice too.

Well, in small amounts. It's only the brake cable in pink now.

I did have another small purchase too. When I bought the tyres a guy who knew about them told me the Slick Willy are for rear use only.

Makes sense. He said people would use a Maxx Daddy on the front. Problem is they are now (the modern ones) 2.5". Fookin huge. I then found one about 20 years old with the old logo for £9 on Ebay. Mint too :D

So aye, quick scrub up and sorted. It's 1.85.

OK so yesterday I scrubbed up the tyres and fitted them. Today.

Bike. Few things left to do, but mostly there.

I also started the machining on the plugs for the Sunday frame. BB and seat tube plugs.

Nimbus laptop makes it sooo much easier to dial the machine. Hopefully it will lead to less mistakes, too.

I've filed them now and they need a clean (where the machining happened). Then I can cut the white parts tomorrow (inner plugs).

Tell you what, I am glad this year's "bike season" is coming to an end.

Other than a good clean down and polish that really should be it now.

I need to get some distance in some rides, the issue I have is that the full squish is a terrible bike to do miles on and the hardtail although infinitely better is also rather terrible. The best bike for road and path use is the cooker but with those tyres it’s also rubbish. I’m feeling a gravel bike may be on the cards :naughty:

I know a lad selling a Trek Crockett 7, but it's CX not gravel, so 33mm tyres max

Putting a personal recommendation in for my own bike here for these ride types.
    Cannondale Treadwell 2.
    It fairly bombs along.
And I've owned about 12 hybrids over the last 15 years or so and this is the best one.

Changes I've made are grips, stem, pedals, seatpost, saddle, seatclamp.
I love the 'one chainwheel' setup with 9 gears, all I need really.
