Downhill enduro, actual poop in your pants, ghost faced and feeling sick “I almost died” runs are the best. Just try not to try and move the earth with your face though. I find it doesn’t work.

I wasn't talking about pooing your pants. Try dropping from a shed roof on a BMX for that. I meant relaxing.

I had a BMX in the 90s I know those feels!

I find the enduro scene quite relaxing, the facility to burn off the rage that kids fill you with is better than therapy. Can’t do that with a BMX, too many people with scooters in close proximity these days and they usually have kids on them :waah:

Funny you mention that, my mate just came off his bike and snapped his shin.

Ouch. I chose a full face over the weekend. It was a wise choice. Hope your mate has a speedy recovery.

Any ideas where I could get an “appraisal” for insurance for the bikes?

if I provide lists and images of everything the insurance companies want receipts of an exact bike and can’t comprehend that the bikes have parts replaced or upgraded. Dumb.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

We give free insurance away at work with Sunday and someone else I cant remember.

Would a bike shop crash assessment work?

Edit: Bikmo is the other insurance company.

Still waiting for the quotes back even with images to both of these.. I’m going to have a look through MBUK mag to see if any are mentioned there. Can’t be leaving them uninsured for this length of time

Mine are on my Halifax house insurance, but I'm not sure if that covers me away from home.

If you decide to go with Bikmo or Sunday I'm not sure if I can get a discount code, I can look into it. If such a thing even exists.

I tried that today with a few companies thinking this could work. Nope. They want receipts for absolutely everything to prove the value rather than using common sense and the eyes provided to them at birth. I'm reasonably sure its a violation on their own operating practices as well as the laws in place to protect both the insurer and the insured to skirt like this, ie paying out in the event of etc.

I have a watch that was my grandfathers. I don't have a receipt, it was a gift. It has a high value. They are 100% fine with that but not with a home built computer over £2000 or a bike. Blows my f****** mind. Just as they are happy to shell out £100k for contents should I have a house fire and lose everything.

Out building contents insurance that includes bikes to a total value of £10k will be my go to in the short term. That will have to do. I have the bike, I have the mods and I have hundreds of pics. If anything gets stolen Ill claim for the value of a current at hand list of the same or the closest part available and if they say no, I'll revert back to out building content value as per my contract and I'll take them to court. Absolute farse!

And so it ends. Good bye Nukeproof, you’ve been grand!

The site is officially offline and showing a link to shopify. Ouch.

I don't believe so. I may or may not know some insider info.

I don't know the plans, but I believe someone bought it.

Interesting.. buy the business for 20m that owes you 14m… that’s setting value at 34m.. how do other companies claim back from that ? Seems a bit dodgy to me.

Reading the sale deal it looks like Giant gets the company and the Union Bank of Nebraska gets the $20million to cover it's secured loans to Stages (and loses $12million in unsecured loans too). Everyone else gets a fart in the wind.

    Typical bankruptcy shenanigans.

Frankly it could have been worse, Giant is at least an actual cycling company and Stages will continue to exist in some capacity. Although I expect them to throw those Peloton style 'smart bikes' in the bin where they belong.

All Giant have to do is get 34m back in profits from this over the next X years to clear the debt and purchase and they can dissolve what ever becomes of it should they wish whilst everyone else is left high and dry. A smart way to get back what’s yours in the long run but at the expense of everyone else as you have noted.

Bankruptcy should be just that with all assets lost and those responsible held under criminal charges for negligence. You’d get less Mickey Mouse businesses and far less people willing to risk it through fear of repercussions.
