Am I the only one who thinks they suck? The one linked in a thread floating around GD at the moment (reallifecomic or something, such an imaginative name there...) is utter crap IMO. Not even funny. Do I have some sort of web-comic-sense-of-humor-bypass? Calvin & Hobbes, Dilbert, JTHM - now they are comics... I just can't help but get images of the comic book store guy from the Simpsons each time i have the misfortune of stumbing over these wannabe web comics
Some suck, some are good. http://www.penny-arcade.com http://www.ctrlaltdel-online.com Are both pretty good IMO, but Ctrl-Alt-Del is getting a bit soft these days.
I have to agree about the RealLife comic, and not just because I am a Coca-Cola fanboy But I find MegaTokyo pretty good, at least the first 400 or so that I have read. I have a lot of catching up to do!
I have like 9 that I read regulary.... Just got hooked on MegaTokyo and after a few days at it, finally caught up to the current, I really like the artwork and the story line is good too. Another one I just got hooked on is called 'Everything Jake' it's kinda gotten stale lately though Probably one of my favorites though is 'Get Fuzzy' which is syndication in the newspapers now... so it must be good right RTT... hehehe -Fiz
Add www.dieselsweeties.com to the list and that's all I regularly check. I like real comics better of course... But who doesn't?
I read www.ctrlaltdel-online.com www.somethingpositive.net www.rwwr.com (hilariously random) www.elftor.com (before it died off) www.pennyarcade.com I read all these regularly and keep on top of them, then read a few others when im bored and hav nothing to do, like theatrehopper etc... there basically just a time waster like bash.org or grouphug.us but more pleasing on the eyes than small text - M@
Agree. PA and Reallife ive been reading for years. PA us much better but RL does get a bit long in the tooth for a while then comes back with great strips like yesterdays and todays. Ive had dilbert in my mail for ages now, gotta love Dilbert Ive also started reading PvP and Foxtrot recently, but Foxtrot is harder to get a single clickable link to the newest comic. I could never get into Megatokyo, but he's gotta a absolutely MASSIVE fanbase.
Come on! Have you read "I feel sick"? Its the Devi spinoff. Not too bad. I agree tho, web comics, on the whole, suck broken glass in poison jelly through a hosepipe. Maybe we could have a Vertigo / Marvel thread. Who published Transmetropolitan?
They're awesome, my comics dir is checked daily, - Control Alt Del - Ink Tank - Little Gamers - Penny Arcade - PVP (Incredibly funny a lot of the time) - Questionable Content - Real Life - User Friendly
the only reason I picked fantastic is for actual comics ported to the web. such as. steampower FMA alphashade and a new find pihakwa they are either origional, free, and made for the web, or not licenced in north america therefore not illigal to download for personal use (I'm sure they would still be pissed if you stared to mass produce and sell them) as for the web comic 'strip' I have yet to see one that is actually good and not have a base humour level of potty humour and slapstick.
im not really a fan of them tbh, i dont mind comics in general but i find that too many comics now a days are too much like each other.
i concur, wholeheartedly. that somic might as well have been a little bit of text which says... "did you know you can fit a pc into almost anything, even a nintendo case!" and many could shorten it more than that no doubt! the only comic worth its salt is garfield
pfft mortals. I read: Dilbert Real Life Control alt delete Penny Arcade Mega Tokyo Striptease Neko the Kitty Pokey the penguin all of them rock... with the exception of pokey which sucks so much it makes it funny.
Used to be a big fan of Megatokyo stopped reading a while ago, the story just stopped interesting me. Never really read any others apart from Dilbert.
Never found any of them funny tbh, all I've seen are ones about "geeks" or gamers making some really unfunny 1337 jokes <A88>
