Hey bit-tech.net people, are you guys gonna make a bit-tech webclip icon at some point for iPhone and Touch users? That'd be awesome! It's a sexy logo.
You can make your own somewhere... I can't remember the site... Here I think that works kinda like tinyurl though...
Oooh, shiny Do they update themselves if a new icon is uploaded? Actually Jamie, have you thought of doing an iPod/iPhone/mobile stylesheet? (or however it is done...) I've been looking into doing an iPod version of my soon to be updated website, just to see how it's done and what can be done. It will be nice writing CSS that only has to work on one browser!
The CSS work is easy enough, it's just making an interface that's up to par with Apple's But yeah, that would be awesome. A slightly narrower version of the forums would receive no complains. You know, just so I can spam while driving. *must not let DougEdey catch up*
The forums actually do ok for me. They scale quite well. To get them better though the adverts would have to go and avatars scaled back to about 30 pixels. There are a lot of pages which seem to use some inbuilt effects on pages as well. Like when they scroll left and right as you navigate.
Well, apple do have a developer site, but I tried registering and was asked for a lot of money. I tried to convince the boss at work to get an account a week or so ago but seeing as I'm leaving on Friday (tomorrow) he wasn't too keen From what I've seen, it's just a case of making it a fluid layout that will stretch from 320px to 480px. I'm guessing here, but if you go on facebook the pages are all animated. That could just be the dev's being crazy good at stuff, or safari has some inbuilt effects you can take advantage of . Without a proper guide I think it's a case of trial and error. Found (a mini) one! The Optimize for Page Readability is probably the most interesting section.
Apple's Developer site is free to access, it's only paid if you want the membership benefits (hardware purchase discount program, software seeding... other stuff I don't know about because I can't quite justify it). In any case, it's not necessary. Anyways, http://developer.apple.com/document...honeHIG/Introduction/chapter_1_section_1.html http://developer.apple.com/iphone/devcenter/designingcontent.html You can always hire me as a beta tester
We could do with a few beta testers. I've uploaded a new webclip image, could you take a look and see if it's any good? No wireless for my iTouch at work you see.
