Full disclosure: I've never really had any desire to photograph weddings, mainly in part to the exorbitant amout of stress involved and the utter perfection that tends to be demanded. This past weekend, I made the mistake of bringing my gear to the wedding of a family member, not knowing they hadn't actually hired a professional photographer. So, I volunteered: (some of the darker onces are overcompressed, blame facebook) That is all.
I have to say these are very nice ones and I particularly like the sixth one and the tenth one is different. I have done one wedding photography last October and have been asked to do one this August. First time round gave me a lot of ideas and knowledge about what to do in August. With Wedding photography it seems the couple wants clarity rather than composition although you've given me a couple of ideas of what I should do! What lens did you use? I'm considering using my 18-200mm which means I don't need to keep swapping lens over. However my autofocus seem to have broke .
The portrait shots: 50/1.8 The wider ones: Siggy 10-20 The majority of the other shots: 18-200 VR (if you have one, use it!) The 18-200 VR proved extremely useful. The knife one was lit with a wirelessly triggered SB 800+SB 600 combo.
And if you have TWO bodies, one with a 24-70 and the other with a 70-200, then that will prove even MOOOORE useful, not to mention give better quality images.
Damn, very nice! Much nicer than my attempt the other weekend (the results of which I'm still sorting through) where I had to borrow a 30D (Which I've never used before) the morning of the wedding due to my charger breaking... Love the knife one! RwD
