Many people here do some words/sentences in binary. Ar 1's and 0's in posts/typing also represented by 1's and 0's? wouldn't it make since that they wouldn't? seems like an endless loop... If it sounds stupid, it is. I had a lot of caffinated mints.

I get what he's saying, and to put it simply: some people translate words and sentances into 1's and 0's, and then post them online. Now, he's infering that the 1's and 0's in the post are again being broken down into yet more 1's and 0's, making a seemingly 'endless loop'. His logic is failing though, as the "1's and 0's" he's reffering to, are actually 'on' and 'off' in computer language. So there is no litteral 1 or 0 representing anything, just 'on' and 'off'. So I'm sorry ArmyAnt, but I just deflated your idea :p Good one though :thumb:

it wouldn't be an endless loop as the pulses of high and low voltage would not be translated again.

however, the idea that someone translates a sentence into binary say 001011011001 (wow, short sentence!) and that binary sentence then needs to be translated again is correct. '0' and '1' are still characters which need to be broken into binary further for a machine to make use of it (this wouldn't be the case if we only had 0 and 1 in our language of course).

    still, gimme your mints!!

//seems strange that they make coffee-breath mints...

I would say yes and no to that. Binary is a computer language and just represents on or off as Malfoleo said. However, when they're posted it's showing up as plain text/numbers so the computer should be breaking that down again into it's own language but it would end there, not creating and endless loop. The only way it would be endless would be find a translator and translate whatever you want. Then take the string of 1's and 0's and enter that as text and it will give you another binary string. If I'm thinking right, this would eventually break down to 1 or 0 and the translator would translate it back as 1 or 0.

edit: doh, it's too early for me to try to think. put it this way...

    3 in binary is 11
11 translated binary again would be 1010

so, yes. doing this would be an endless loop with the number continuously getting bigger.
